Skyscrapers Across the U.S.

In most major metropolitan cities skyscrapers have been a part of its history for many years. When you visit major cities like Chicago and New York City, you become bombarded with skyscrapers. These titans of the industry and architecture always stand out and even have fan pages dedicated to those worldwide. 

Many examples of famous skyscrapers include the Flatiron Building in New York City, The Willis Tower in Chicago, and Philadelphia City Hall in Philadelphia. Some of these beautiful buildings can be found on the Library of Congress website. 

Skyscrapers have been a part of history and most city's infrastructure. They often are office buildings, apartments, condos, and even stores and restaurants. As of September of last year, there were fifteen cities across the world with more than 100 skyscrapers. 

Some famous architects and architectural firms include Shreve, Lamb & Harmon who designed the Empire State Bldg. Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler who designed the Auditorium Bldg and John McArthur Jr. and Thomas Ustick Walter who designed Philadelphia City Hall.
